THE BEIJING OPERA AMATEURS RESTIVAL IS COMING

We are very pleased to announce the CCTV/Skyland Beijing Opera Amateurs
Festival, to be held on January 9, 2010 in Naperville. This will be a great
celebration of the traditional Beijing opera art by amateur performers from
the greater Chicago area plus several special guests from other states of
the U.S. They are going to perform excerpts from some of the most well
known Beijing operas. As a highlight of the event we are honored to have
the China Central Television (CCTV) Operas Channel group here to cover the
stage performance as well as other activities for later broadcasting to
millions of audience in China and other parts of the world. Coming with
the group from CCTV are several well known Beijing Opera artists so our
audience will also have an opportunity to watch their top level performance
up close. This will be a truly extraordinary event for Beijing Opera fans
and people who appreciate traditional Chinese arts. The performance will
be in Chinese but introduction will be given in both Chinese and English
for each piece, plus line by line subtitle will be shown in both languages
during the singing.
